Birdwatching is a pastime enjoyed around the world by people from all walks of life, and it's easy to see why. Birds account for a huge portion of our wildlife, and you'll most likely find several different species just by stepping out into your garden. In the UK alone, there are over 200 distinct species of bird, and every single one is unique.

But going outside and seeing nature first-hand isn't always an option, and even when it is, some birds are much harder to find than others. Not to mention you'll need a good camera, suitable footwear, sandwiches in case you get hungry... Surely there's an easier way to get your bird-watching fix? Of course: just take a trip to Skelburn Park!

Located on the northeast coast of England, Skelburn Park is one of the most diverse nature reserves in the UK. From woodland to moorland, meadows to lakes, almost every ecosystem in the country can be found within the parks' borders (and, of course, almost every bird). So grab your camera, grab your binoculars, grab your Spotter's Guide, and step out into nature from the comfort of your own home.

The Small Print

It goes without saying, of course, that The Spotter's Guide to Skelburn Park is not yet a complete game. In fact, right now, it's hardly a game at all. However, the idea is there, and it's an ambitious one: to create a simple, point-and-click, pixel art game which represents the UK's many diverse ecosystems and, more importantly, its birds.
